The Cure’s Perry Bamonte Passes Away at 65
Sure, The Cure aren’t metal, but this is important regardless. You can’t act like they haven’t had a huge impact on everything, but especially music that’s dark and brooding. Metal is definitely that, in its own right (I mean, remember some years ago when we were “given” Curezum?). It’s sad to say that The Cure have just shared that their guitarist and keyboardist Perry Bamonte has passed away at the age of 65.
The band made the sad announcement on their website, saying that Bamonte, who’s been in the band since 1990, passed after dealing with “a short illness at home over Christmas.” Damn. Their post reads:

SOME OF THE BEST IN THE BAND’S HISTORY,
CULMINATING WITH THE SHOW OF A LOST WORLD CONCERT
IN LONDON 1ST NOVEMBER 2024.OUR THOUGHTS AND CONDOLENCES ARE WITH ALL HIS FAMILY.
HE WILL BE VERY GREATLY MISSED.
What a shitty way to spend the holiday. Our hearts go out to Perry’s family, bandmates, and friends and everyone else. RIP to a legend.
