The Human Abstract

The Human Abstract, a band similar in style to new MetalSucks wet dream Protest the Hero, have announced they are working on a new album according to a report on Lambgoat. Toby Wright, the man behind the boards for numerous Alice in Chains releases (as well as Slayer, Metallica, Fishbone, Sevendust, Machinehead, Soulfly and others) will be producing the project, which will be “a multi-level non-fiction concept album.” A what now? Singer Nathan Ells elaborates:

“… something with a storyline that tells real stories about real people, something that tells a story that lies so deeply within the human cycle of being, that it has always been, and may always be within the recesses of our concious [sic] thought. We definitely want to strike a chord with such force on this particular effort, that all who hear it, must listen to its important message within message display.”

Wow, whatever that means it sounds pretty awesome. The songs from the 2006 release Nocturne that are posted on the band’s MySpace are already pretty intricate, so I’m curious to see what they’ll come up with next with Toby Wright’s direction and new guitarist Andrew Tapley and keyboard player Sean Leonard in the fold. I’m naturally interested in anything Toby Wright does, and this is a curious match. Put it on the list for 2008 releases I’m anxiously awaiting.
