SAIGON KICK IS GETTING BACK TOGETHER!!!
Wednesday, September 10th, 2008 at 1:51pm by Vince NeilsteinAxl and I have been waiting, oh, about 12 years for the inevitable “SAIGON KICK REUNION” headline to come across our ticker, and thankfully on this 10th day of September in the year 2008 A.D., we can celebrate. It’s no secret that we have a major hard on (non-ironically, thank you very much) for this awesome band; but we’ve also never gotten to see them live. So either Jason Bieler and Matt Kramer kissed and made nice, or that last Nonpoint record really bombed. But who the fuck cares? Saigon Kick are getting back together in 2009!
The catch: they’re reuniting for a one-off festival show in… Algona, Iowa??? Hopefully this means more festival appearances are in the works.
In the meantime, enjoy this priceless early ’90s timepiece video for “Hostile Youth” from the band’s landmark album The Lizard.

Not so fast…I would be cautiously optimistic about this at best. It would be cool to see them do it but the hate was strong between Bieler and the rest of the band. And isn’t Varone trying to be a comic?
I opened for them in ‘92 on The Lizard tour. They were really good but all the harmony vocals were faked. That was a big letdown.
Who ever claimed that SK faked vocals or anything for that matter is a total idiot. Even though I won’t play with them again, nothing was ever faked. I will swear on that to the grave!!!

I lurved SK…even the Super Transatlantic stuff….let’s hope that Matt and Jason allow the water to have passed under the bridge, and bring out some new material down the line (even though seeing a one-off would be cool and new material is a big ask)…
Agreed. I’ve had the fortune to see the band, albeit without Kramer many time. I am super stoked if this does turn out to be real. I also feel that the bizarre set of circumstances ( a one off, at a first time festival, in Iowa, a year from now??) make it very suspicious. I’m 100% there if this does tuen out to be true. I honestly can’t believe what I’m reading here. I just whacked myself in the balls with a hammer b/c it was more enjoyable than watching that video. The only good reason for these guys to get back to together is to commit mass suicide. Load these guys up on a plane with Motley Crue, Ratt, Warrant, Poison and all the rest of the radio faggots and crash it into the fucking ocean. I can’t take it!!!!

No Jason Bieler for this one off show. Not sure who the bassist will be either. I just know it is Matt and Phil. Saw them last time in 2001 with Blando(Slaughter) on guitar and that was awesome.

The idiot who claims he opened for them in 92 is full of shit, or stupid or both.
