“DISCONNECT” FROM DIECAST

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 at 12:31pm by

You ever meet a girl who seems really cute until she actually opens her mouth? To me, Diecast is that girl. There’s no reason I shouldn’t be into them – they deal in a lot of the same sounds as some bands that I really do dig – but they just never did it for me. I just don’t think they write very good songs.

Still, I have at least one very good friend who would disagree me. So, I’m perfectly content to let you know that the group has posted a new song, “Disconnect,” on their MySpace page. It comes from a yet-to-be titled album that will drop sometime next year. I think the song is as boring as every other song this band has ever made, but I’m sure any Diecast fans reading this will have no problem disagreeing with me in the comments section below.

I love Diecast. That being said, I thought this song was just ok. It wasn’t horrible, it certainly wasn’t “Fade Away” or “S.O.S”. I’m still excited for the new album.

is the guy on the far left really in the band? looks like one of the band members’ little brother temper tantrum-ed his way into the photoshoot IMO :-D

    Really Axl?Diecast have fans?

Of course they have fans, some people can’t afford to go see the real killswitch engage.

‘Disconnect’ sounds like a Slipknot song that never made the cut to be released.

I am by no means a slipknot fan either.

    1st: chuckles at TedPoley
2nd: L.O.L. at John. So true, and so funny.

That being said I’m still a fan of this band, and a bit less so, this song. They definitely have better material. Also this song has too much clean vocals– they are sung well, but it’s not my thing, nor does it fit perfectly well in to the song. W/e. Definition of a Hero fave song.

EDIT: I accidentally just listened to “Fade Away” … I thought it sounded familiar.

New song: sounds weird– esp that growly intro. W/e. I’ll keep an eye out for new stuff as year goes on…

their 1st album with their original members (none of which i believe are still in the band) Day of Reckoning was quite good for its time. Although, i’d doubt it’d still have its same appeal to me today, and i’d have to agree with John that they are something of a low-rent pay by the day version of killswitch

The songs awesome. I can’t say I’m a big KSE fan, though Holy Diver is the shit. I don’t see what everybody doesn’t like about Diecast, they’ve got a good sound. It’s not over the top shit metal and its not hinder-style pussy. That being said I’d have to say by far Internal Revolution is the best album of 2007.
