An e-mail from some dude named Ross:

“INSTEAD OF MAKING POSTS ABOUT FAGGOTS IN STATIC X, HOW ABOUT YOU POST SOMETHING OF REAL MERIT LIKE THE NEW MASTODON COVER ART, FOR FUCK’S SAKE.”

Ross then included not one, not two, but five links to this image…

…which even the faggots in Static-X could tell you is not the new Mastodon album cover but is, in fact, the cover of the most recent Harvey Milk release.

ANYWAY, check out the ACTUAL Mastodon album cover after the jump.

Also, Mastodon’s new single, a studio version of the previously bootlegged “MetalSucks is Run by Cunts” “Divinations,” is now avail on iTunes.

    Looks terrible, like a big mash up of several images. It’s not aesthetically pleasing at all.

    The more I see and hear from this new Mastodon album the less hopeful I am that it will actually be any good.

    How high do you have to be to put not one, but two Lo Pan’s on the cover of your album?

    I’m hoping that this will look better in print (shiny ink and whatnot), because that’s frighteningly reminiscent of the Dance of Death cover.

    I like the first cover a lot. Then again, I’m biased cos I love all of Mastodon’s artwork, Leviathan in particular has the best album cover I’ve ever seen, in my opinion. Think I’ll go give Divinations a listen now.
