REVOCATION – “PESTILENCE REIGNS” EXCLUSIVE STREAM!

Monday, September 14th, 2009 at 1:00pm by

We’ve ranted and raved about Boston progressive death metallers Revocation enough that you should know all about their upcoming Relapse debut Existence is Futile (September 29th) by now. In case you still aren’t hip, we’ve made it super-easy for you; just click that thar little “Play” button below and listen to their brand new, previously unreleased track “Pestilence Reigns.”

Once this track has kicked your ass, go and listen to three more from the new album on Revocation’s MySpace page, then pre-order the record with a killer t-shirt (I did). You will not be sorry.

Loving this band more and more. That shirt kind of sucks though, you can have it

basic cliche mall metal. It stinks.

  • TurdFerguson

This songly oddly reminds me of newer Exodus material and to me that’s a very good thing.

  • Kyle

This is definitely my least favorite of the new tracks I have heard. Pretty bland.

  • Kuranes

I think it would be helpful if people who post things like “it stinks” would mention something that they think is better. Seriously. I think this song is pretty bad-ass, but if you think it stinks then either a) you may know some band that is really better or b) we have different tastes in music.

  • Kill All

mall metal? no-ghost, are you serious? no clean vocals in there anywhere. you have now proven that your opinion is retarded. “basic cliche mall metal”, how long have you been listening to metal? … ahhheemmm, let me answer that for you, not very long at all.

I wasn’t really all that impressed with Empire of the Obscene. I might check this album out but I might now.
I thought I’d written a review for it but I can’t find it. I know I didn’t like it though.

Awesome band. I’m eagerly awaiting a full US tour. I saw these guys open for Quo Vadis in Maryland (I came all the way from Kansas!) and they were fucking amazing.

Your wishes may come true very soon.

um, i dont get why this is supposed to be special. why are bands like this getting big?.also, how are they defined “progressive” metal? i know its a term and ive only heard one song, but the term is thrown around a lot. the word “prog” when used in the 70s etc was used with bands that stepped outside the box, or incorporated different styles or ideas into their songs. this song shows none of that. i hope the word “prog” wont become the next “core”..

    • Kill All

it already has, sorry to break your heart

    • sadisticmagician

while i was a little befudled by the prog label, I will say you should listen to the other three tracks Revocation released from this album to get a better view of them. In my opinion, this is the weakest of the fourtracks released

  • no-ghost

im not trying to start a fight, it really does come to the listeners opinion.
It stinks in my opinion. It sounds like anything else out there and not even done as well.
Very run of the mill. I mean someone has to like them or listen to them or they wouldn’t exist right?
now thats some good stoner logic. So again I don’t mean to start a fight.

    Destroy Drum Triggers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • F

Those drum-triggers sound fucking horrible haha, didn’t fit at all in my opinion. The songs sounded way better than this on their studio reports.

  • http://staticseth.blogspot.com/ Seth

This is one of the better new songs in my opinion. The guitars are sick as always. I really like this and am anxiously awaiting the new album. Definitely gonna consider seeing them in Boston the night after the release.

  • adam

this is awsome wtf mall metal r u dumb great band going to make it big

  • http://tpscarlos@gmail.com detazathoth

I agree, this will probably be the weakest song off the album, but that’s not a bad thing, I still like a lot of the song. It will be a song to grow on for sure.

Hopefully their release party isn’t 21+ because I deff want to hear the rest of the new material

    Dig it.

  • s.axl.beckett

WAIT TILL THE SOLO COMES IN KHED. How many mall metal bands do you know that are asked to play in crust punk warehouse shows?
