AXL ROSE PLANNING MORE CANADIAN RIOTS?
Friday, October 16th, 2009 at 12:30pm by Axl RosenbergDepending on who you believe, Axl Rose has been directly or indirectly responsible for four riots during the course of his career, and two of them were in Canada – one in Montreal and one in Vancouver.
So the news that Rose may announce Canadian tour dates (or at least a date) this Monday is somewhat unsettling.
It’s a big country and there are obviously some major markets left for Rose to alienate – a teaser banner suggests that he’s going to once again attack French Canada, although I’d point him towards Toronto, which is like New York if everyone was really, really polite – but at some point you’d think the government would just turn Rose away at the border, the same way they seem to turn everyone away at the border these days. I mean, what’s worse, having a ten year old record for possession, or being responsible for two major riots in the same country? That’s the kind of thing that dictators aspire to achieve, not aging rock stars.
Guns N’ Roses – which is now a cover band of a cover band, since half the dudes who helped write and record Chinese Democracy have since moved on to saner pastures – is already scheduled to terrorize Asia in December. It’ll be more than a year since Democracy was finally released, and the first time Rose has toured behind it. Now if only Brokencyde would follow that kind of touring cycle.

Fucking hilarious. Nicely done.
Holy shit……Tabitha Soren, that name brings back memories of childhood/being a teenager, when MTV actually played music videos and was a respectable source of music news/entertainment.
And, what’s this? Lars with hair!?!? Wow.
Tabitha Sore-Ann? Is it just me, or does Lars remind anyone else of Paul McCartney?
He will either cancel or not show up, so I doubt there will be any riots.
Isn’t that usually what causes the riots?
I know, I wouldn’t exactly be disappointed by the lack of an Axl Rose show in my town either. but some people are idiots, what can I say?
Add “cover band of a cover band” to the list of greatness in this article. Kudos Axl.
you missed at least one riot. I participated in one in philly. he didn’t show and we wrecked the place. the riot cops were scary as shit. but that didn’t stop me from throwing a pepsi machine down a flight of stairs
Ryan,
The article focuses on Canada you “douches ignoramus” since the concert dates are in Canada. Who cares about Philly!
Guns n’ Roses did a “Chinese Democracy” tour in 2006 that excluded Montreal, but still hit Quebec City.
Axl Rose had nothing to do with the Vancouver riot. The management of General Motors Place (the venue) canceled the show at 8:00PM. The show was not set to begin until after that time. While it is true that Axl was not in Vancouver at that time (he was in route…for yet another typically late start time), he did not cancel the show or pull any of his weirded out crap. Outside of ignorance of the facts behind the cancellation, I don’t see how anyone can say he was directly or indirectly responsible for that Vancouver riot.
Fuck anyoen or anthing related to Guns and Roses…. pieces of shit..
Sorum…”We came out a few hours later and the crowd was down….”
NO KIDDING!…we waited 2 1/2 hours after James went up in flames, and there was NO BEER being sold that night…waiting waiting…..Oh… here comes GNR, they sound like shyte, the show stops after 20 minutes with no explanation = RIOT. It’s almost logical.
Best part of night was FAITH NO MORE!
Patton rules!
