PRESENTING THE 2010 METAL AS ART TOUR, FEATURING HYPNO5E, REVOCATION AND THE BINARY CODE

We’re extremely proud to present to you what in our humble opinions is the coolest young band tour of early 2010; The Metal As Art Tour, featuring Hypno5e, Revocation and The Binary Code. While every band on the bill is different from one another, each brings a unique, artistic sensibility to their own brand of metal and all are some of the most forward-thinking metal musicians out there; hence “Metal As Art.”
We’ve raved about Revocation and we’ve raved about The Binary Code. We’ve yet to see Hypno5e, who are traveling all the way from France for this tour; but what we’ve heard of their new record (still in the works) is extremely promising.
The tour kicks off in New York City on January 6th, winds its way out to the West Coast and then comes all the way back East, ending in Trenton, NJ on February 6th, the day before the Superbowl. We’ll have plenty of updates leading up to the tour and along the way. Full list of dates, cities and venues after the jump.

santa cruz isnt that far away… its like an hour and a half long drive.
which is a problem for us younger folk who are still semi-dependent for a ride that long and at the hour it will be at.
Which isn’t a problem when you’ve gotten one of your parents into metal.

Me, too. Utah doesn’t often get good metal shows, sadly. Sucks they couldn’t get the Salt Air. Or Murray Theater.
Agreed, Utah is a metal show black hole… which sucks severely. Have you ever been to the Outer Rim? What’s it like?
I haven’t, but my bassist has connections there, so in a month or two we might be playing there.

The Outer Rim is good peeps. Hell yeah, bring a bunch of kids, and doors open at 6pm for this one.

Killer tour. Revocation absolutely slays, and the other bands aren’t that bad either. More tours need to come through Lawrence and KC!
i dont really like any of them other than revocation. if the tix are cheap ill just show up for them and then leave and get drunk in brooklyn after.
The bands themselves are great, but that tour name sounds like it was made by a member of Pitchfork.
Does any one really care about tour names (unless they’re actually good)? You hear it once and then it’s an afterthought.

Yeah i also find this puzzling. That and Revocation’s live show supposedly leaves everything on the stage, perfect closing band.
Metal as art – I wouldn’t say that any of these bands are expanding the art form. The name of the tour doesn’t fit with the line up.

This is fucking awesome. This tour is gonna have a serious underground vibe, I love these kind of shows! I remember seeing Origin years before they got big and it was so cool. Bands at this stage need to work shard to prove themselves, freezing cold weather hahaha, good luck to the bands, I’ll be there in Trenton. Great tour.
