OPERATION: SUMERIANCORE WIKI WAS A BUST

sumerian recordsMy efforts to have Sumeriancore added to Wikipedia have been squashed. MS reader Ty Winchester took is upon himself to write up the entry, but it was removed within a week due to being a “neologism.” You can still see a cached version of that Sumeriancore Wikipedia entry. Next up I tried UrbanDictionary.com… and got shot down by the site’s editors in less than 24 hours.

What the fuck? I feel Sergeant D’s pain.

At least there’s a Last.FM tag for Sumeriancore now, and industry people used the term at a CMJ panel last month. Sumeriancore will live on in our hearts and in our minds… and on this website. Fuck the haters!

    Quitters. You just have to be persistent. Don’t you remember the Irish journalism student that put false quotes in wikipedia that major news outlets cited? Just hammer them relentlessly until sumeriancore becomes reality.

    Urban Dictionary have entries for Wigger Slam and Crabcore. There’s no reason they can’t get Sumeriancore on there.

    How the fuck do you get rejected by Urban Dictionary? I’ve put stuff on there a few times… my favourite being “fozzing”.

    Far be it from me to rain on your parade, but I saw this coming a light year away. That “neologism” thing makes perfect sense. Sumeriancore is only applicable to very few bands, less than 10. It’s only a very small metal culture phenomenon, like crabcore and wigger slam. And crabcore doesn’t have anything to do with metal as it is, it’s just a stage move some screamo band put on a music video that one time.

    Like it said in the cached entry, Sumeriancore is only a mix of technical death metal, mathcore, and hardcore, and it refers a single record label. I can understand Wikipedia wanting it removed, but how Urban Dictionary would not accept Sumeriancore… not like I care.

    And I trust them Last.fm tags like I would trust a known paedophile with my younger relatives. I’ll remind you that Last.fm is where arseloads of scenesters tag deathcore (or “wigger slam”) bands as grindcore. It’s a bastion of idiots and epic fail.

    If you look not so closely at the last fm sumeriancore entry, you’ll notice that a total of 9 people have used the tag. The bands that have been tagged incude Avenged Sevenfold, and if you’ll look at the grand total of 5 comments, you’ll notice that no one is taking this tag seriously

    ok, i dont understand why Metalsucks is backing this hidiously shitty little trend zit label called sumerian records. yes, i checked out some the bands, i went to their pages. Its a bunch of fucking losers that over design their t shirt logos and have band names like “stick to your guns” and “i see stars”. these are thae bands that people make fun of, the screamo emo metal wanna be meshuggah fuckers that fuckin 14 emo boys like. seriously, if your a metalhead, or any kind of genuine music listener that doesnt fall for gay trends, you cant possibly like any of this shit, in my opinion. the people who listen to this shit wear skinny jeans, die thweir hair black and the bangs blond, and make up STUPID ASS sayings like sumeriancore and crabcore. maybe wikipedia shot down your page cuz their sick of stupid little fags crammiong thier website full of ridiculous filth. fucking trend hoppers. a couple years ago, it was suicide silence and it dies today. a couple before that it was gayswitch engage and trivium and god forbid. now its periphery and any other band that rips of meshuggah, has seven different vocal styles in one song, and has the fashion sence of a 16 yr old suburban my chemical romance fan. get a fuckin life, or for fuck sake, get some taste.
