Mnemic… a band I have almost no opinion of whatsoever. I don’t hate them, I don’t love them. They have one song I’ve enjoyed in the past, “Door 2.12,” and when I saw them live a few years back, I thought they put on a pretty good show. But, mostly, I regard them as “Mehnemic.”

They have a big following, though, and I imagine that following will be excited to hear their new song, “Diesel Uterus,” which is now streaming here. It sounds to me like a Mnemic song.

“Diesel Uterus” comes off Sons Of The System, which Nuclear Blast will release in January (15th in Europe, 26th in North America).

And that’s all I have to say about that. Here’s that song “Door 2.12,” just because.

agree with you axl there not bad not good very meh to me Deathbox was the only song i really enjoyed

  • CARTER

I really like their stuff. DBXX’D, Ghost, and Liquid are all some of their best tunes. They’ve got a super heavy tone, kinda devin townsendesque, but iwth the polyrhythmic sound goin. i dunno why they’d be a “meh”

  • CARTER

I don’t like their new singer tho, the first 2 albums are the only ones worth listening to.

      Agreed.

I haven’t really listened to them extensively… they seem like fairly generic melodeath/metalcore.

    • CARTER

      They’re really not though…

      • polqnis

I agree with the other dude, it does. For some odd reason…

  • http://www.last.fm/user/M60Patton Patton

    Meh

  • Zoker

I share the exactly same opinion as you Axl, I can’t say they’re bad but I’ve never really got into their music… as for the new song… well, they start to become boring to me.

I’ll probably end up checking their new album though.

  • AATHD

They do a decent digimortal era Fear Factory impression. I think they may even have an anti-gay song that I heard them play live and the singer was pretending to dry hump the guitarist.

  • Lybrium

Yea, I have to agree…I have their last album “passenger”, it’s just not that enticing.

    • CARTER

yeah, passenger was kinda weak. their first singer was much more intense

Of all the bands that imitate Meshuggah, Mnemic is one of my favorites. I’ve seen them a couple times, they’re cool. Hopefully this new album will be better than their last, since they’ve gone back to working with Tue Madsen. “Passenger” wasn’t great.

  • DREADxPIRATE

    It’s Sugar Ray.

  • justin

i liked when their singer did the guest spot on an aborted song awhile back… that’s about it.

  • Anthony

I’m a really big fan of the Audio Injected Soul album, and Mechanical Spin Phenomena is great too. Passenger on the other hand isn’t that great. It has a few tracks I really love (Shape of the formless, in the nothingness black), but just pales in comparison to the first two. Their new French singer is also a lot more generic sounding. Michael had a uniqueness to him.

    • Anthony

Oh yeah, and the new song seems to be following in the same step as Passenger.

  • CJLsky

The new song is definitely an improvement over the last album…but then again, so is getting kicked in the balls. I’ll give this new one a chance, just because this is 4 out of the 5 dudes that brought us “Mechanical Spin Phenomena” and “The Audio-Injected Soul”.

  • SonOF

I saw them open for Meshuggah, and they were super MEH. Everyone is MEH compared to Meshuggah, bu they were seriously boring. How did they get a deal with N.Blast anyhow?

  • joshkid

    Threat Signal is WAY better

  • Skanes

I remember loving the song Liquid when I was like 13.

  • mike

I like Mnemic, but Sybreed remain the best and most underrated “Meshuggah clone” band in the world – although only their first album Slave Design resembled Meshuggah.

  • Shadrock

Actually, so far you’ve all been wrong. Best Meshuggah clone is Bulb / PERIPHERY!!!

  • Ballhair

I must be one of the few who loved Passenger

  • kjetil

    They’re shait.

This is the only good song
