As much as I liked The Heroin Diaries, he never really did anything of note (no pun intended) on guitar.
I think HD is pretty cheesy, but I agree with the rest. I don’t get the stroking people do of this guy. He’s never done anything remotely “good.”

the last part reminded me of this kid I played guitar with in jazz band back in high school…our director gave him a spot to improvise a solo (guy played pretty much nothing but zeppelin) and the look of horror on her face at what came out was priceless. she literally went up to him after rehearsal with a piece of paper and was like “okay, so these are scales…” hahahaha

You may have little faith in your earning potential, but I’m pretty sure that being a salaried musician for the Axl Rose Band doesn’t pay anywhere near what I’ll earn in my lifetime.
He’s obviously exaggerating, but I know those dudes were making EXCELLENT money.

I try not to criticize guitar players because my own playing is forever stuck at semi-okay, but holy shit I could play that drunk on Ambien. And while the hell is that solo so damn long for what he’s playing?!
Can someone explain to me how you get a gig like that when you clearly are an amateur?
Obviously the guy must have some skills but yet his solo sounds like an 11 yr old (with Down’s Syndrome) who is deaf in one ear and can’t hear out of the other.

The rest of the show he played great though. Guns n Roses is MUCH better with this line-up. Dj played Sweet Child o Mine better than Slash did in the last decade.
This dude doesn’t even TOUCH Robin on guitar.

Dj is awesome!!! This was his first show, listen to the House Of blues Show in 2001, Robin Finck fucked up 5 or more solos and in 2007 he did an excelent job in all of ‘em!!
They played this song again today in Osaka, and for what i’ve heard, it was awesome(this same solo), so stop fucking with Dj ’cause he will kick your ass in the rest of this tour!
I think Axl’s singing is worse, actually. This, kids, is why you shouldn’t pay 200$ to see a band past their prime.

Show his other solos of the night. They were spot on. Of course leave it to the media scumbags to ignore the multiple positives, and focus on 1 small negative. Losers.

obiusli this men never learn how improvisate for music is horribl, the other song sound perfect beacuse he learn them, but slash improvisate the 80% of his solos in concert, but this men sux..
I saw these guys a week ago and Dj did an amazing job. If anything was lacking in the show it was Axl.
