WELP, HERE’S THE VESTASCENSION POST I KNEW YOU WERE ALL WAITING FOR!

It’s been awesome reading everything you guys have been saying so far.  Obviously some people don’t get the humor/sarcasm…but I love it!

So, as you may have guessed, I’m dedicating one post to my own band, Vestascension.

I’m not gonna say much, I prefer to let the music speak for itself.  It’s definitely not going to be for everyone seeing as how it’s not Djent and all these trolls today have just been BEGGING for more Djent posts-so sorry girls!  If you’re a fan of A Perfect Circle, Dredg, Tool, Porcupine Tree, Karnivool, etc. then you may enjoy some of our stuff, or not.  We were very fortunate to be able to record some of the new stuff with Justin Meldal-Johnsen and John Wesley-which was an honor to say the least.

We cover A LOT of different sounds/styles.  I’m posting just 4 songs here with a short description of each one.  All of our music is FREE and you can download it now in very high quality by CLICKING HERE.

AN ENDLESS VOYAGE:

This is a pretty long proggy kind of song I guessed you’d say.  Goes from really melodic to really heavy at the end.

LIFOLIAGE:

Sort of an ethereal song that slowly builds.  Also features guest solos from Periphery’s Jake Bowen and Haunted Shores mastermind Mark Holcomb (who happens to also be touring with Periphery as their 3rd guitarist right now).  Sorry though ladies-not Djent.

EVOLUTORY:

Pretty much a straight up rock song with a bit of a prog structure.

THE FAREWELL FIXTURE:

Again, kind of a rock song with a proggy structure.

        haha PJ just ignore Dental Dam.  He was really just infatuated with me all day-he totally posted on EVERYTHING I wrote about!!  I guess when I said “really heavy” he thought that the melodic song was going to turn into “grindcore” at the end or something?!

    Considering the fact that you had to hand in your articles in advance so the MS crew can program them in…., I’m going to consider this a poor attempt at troll-baiting/humour

      Well, consider yourself 100% wrong.  Yet another troll that assumes he knows the “inside scoop” and speaks his mind about it when in reality he hasn’t a clue.  Sad.  

      What ACTUALLY happened is that I ran past the deadline for my articles to be finished and turned in.  Vince was cool enough to let me get the last couple in the next morning and by the time I wrote this one I’d already seen many many comments that had been posted in the other ones.  

      But, thanks for thinking you have a clue!

      Thanks!  We actually released the August track on Saturday-it’s up on our Bandcamp page.  The September one is almost ready as well :)

      I wasn’t trying to compare us to Tool or say we’re as good or better…merely that if you enjoyed any of those bands there’s a chance you’d enjoy mine which by definition IS comparing I guess-but it shouldn’t be taken in the way I think you’ve taken it.  

      To be clear Tool is my favorite band of all time and I don’t think I’d EVER have a chance to write anything as great as they have.

      That was done on April Fools day, the plan was that they release a new song for free download on the first day of every month of 2011. Just so happens that the 1st of April is a special day.

      Thank you! :)  And yeah, I never get that either.  I don’t think it’s a comparison as much as it is something that they think is uber funny since we all know how wonderful Nickelback is haha.
