Everyone's Replaceable

One of Mushroomhead’s Three Vocalists Quits; Band Vows to Soldier On with Just Two Vocalists

shut up reavisWaylon Reavis (rhymes with “Shut up, Beavis”) was, until earlier today, one of the three vocalists in Mushroomhead. He was ostensibly the nu-metal Janick Gers: he replaced some guy who left the band, and then when that guy inevitably came back, they actually kept both dudes.

But now it seems Reavis has chosen to move on to potentially-less-embarrassing pastures:

So, in other words, some of the other members of Mushroomhead (presumably the founders) had a bigger stake in the brand than he did, and they wouldn’t renegotiate, so he’s quitting. Way to take a stand, bruh. Not against something important, like discontinuing the band’s use of the Confederate flag, but a stand nonetheless.

Meanwhile, we’re left to wonder: how will Mushroomhead ever survive without Reavis? The band’s most recent Facebook post makes it clear that they are taking the matter very seriously and are extremely concerned with regards to how they can possibly soldier on:

Good luck, fellas. You’re gonna need it!
