Holy Shit, This New Gojira Video
We’ve already heard one song from Gojira’s upcoming new album Magma, and it blew us away. Now the band has released another track via its video, this one called “Silvera.”
And it’s just…wow. It’s reminiscent of the music videos of the ’90s, in that it’s this bizarre collection of avant garde imagery interposed between shots of the band playing on a rooftop. But it’s also a beautiful tribute to the striking imagery of New York City, and there’s an interconnecting theme of people being pulled into the sky as though during the rapture or the “Fly High Michelle” video, and… I don’t know. It’s awesome. It’s so, so awesome.
Watch “Silvera” below. Magma comes out June 17th on Roadrunner; you can pre-order it here. Listen to Joe Duplantier talk about the new album, his move to New York City and the construction of his own new recording studio during his appearance on the MetalSucks podcast, and make sure to see Gojira live this fall at one of the dates listed here.
