Prong Go All Hard Rock on New Song “Divide and Conquer”

Forgive me, father: I haven’t kept up with Prong in recent years the way I probably should’ve.

But man, “Divide and Conquer” is NOT what I was expecting from new Prong music. And even just going back to their last record, X – No Absolutes, “Cut and Dry” from that album is more consistent with what I hear in my head when you say “Prong.” But this one? Whew. It’s not bad or anything — it’s quite catchy and well-done — but it’s really only got one degree of separation between something like Alter Bridge or Breaking Benjamin. It’s got that big ol’, classic radio-ready chorus — you’ll know it immediately when you hear it. Says mainman Tommy Victor of the track, “Hey, our new single, ‘Divide And Conquer’, is a fist-pumping singalong. We think of it as a modern-day anthem. It’s catchy but it’s pissed off.”

Check it out below and see what you think. New album Zero Days comes out on July 28th via Steamhammer/SPV.
