Ben Weinman is Recording with Suicidal Tendencies

Guitarist Ben Weinman has been keeping busy post-The Dillinger Escape Plan, filling in as touring guitarist with Suicidal Tendencies last summer and launching an animal rescue sanctuary with his wife, for which he recently unveiled a Patreon campaign.

Now it seems as if Weinman’s role with Suicidal Tendencies will continue beyond the road, as the guitarist has been sharing some footage of himself in the recording studio with Suicidal via his Instagram, with more available to his Patereon subscribers. Suicidal Tendencies won’t be Weinman’s only musical endeavor — presumably Giraffe Tongue Orchestra will become active again at some point (with Brent Hinds, et al.), and he hinted at some other projects in his Patreon introduction video — but it’s good to see that Mike Muir and co. had the good sense to retain his services in a recording (and perhaps writing?) capacity as well. The guy’s too talented to simply be a live fill-in!
