NEW METALLICA ALBUM ALMOST DONE, DUE SPRING 2008
According to NME.com [thanks to MetalSucks reader K-milo for the tip], Metallica are almost finished recording their oft-delayed new album. According to drummer Lars Ulrich, the new album’s sound harkens back to the band’s heyday of the ’80s instead of the shit-tastic output of Suck Anger:
These new songs echo some of our stuff from the ’80s – long, epic journeys through different musical landscapes, heavier, but a lot more melodic.”
He also revealed a number of “silly working titles”, including ’19’, ’10’, ‘German Soup’, ‘Glass Cow’, and ‘Black Squirrel’.
As we know, the new record is being produced by absentee-producer extraordinaire Rick Rubin. We’d like to look forward to the release of this album, but realistically we know not to get our hopes up.
