MACHINE HEAD DEBUT VIDEO FOR “HALO”

30

Critics and fans seemed to agree that Machine Head’s The Blackening was one of the best releases of 2007. Having been released in March of that year, here we are over a year later and Roadrunner is still pumping out videos, a rarity in the current climate of one-and-done single releases. That should speak to the fact that the album is destined to become a modern classic.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but “Halo” was my favorite song from the get-go and I’m thrilled they’ve finally made a video for it. The video is simple but really cool — the Mike Sloat-directed cut indulges in little metal cliche, instead opting for a mix of animated sequences based on The Blackening album artwork and live action sequences of the band members and actors. I dig the polito-religious message too.

Hail Machine Head!
