DAVE GROHL’S MOVIE LOOKS LIKE FUN (I THINK)

When word got out that Dave Grohl was working on some top-secret new project with a bunch of awesome metal d00ds, including Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and Ratt’s Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini, we got all excited that he might be working on a new Probot album. Well, it turned out that Grohl is actually making a documentary about California’s Sound City Studios, where who even knows how many legendary recordings have been produced. So, not a Probot record, but still potentially pretty cool.

Now there’s a twenty-five second teaser for the doc, which doesn’t really tell us much, but does have a manic energy which suggests this thing will be very Grohlian — a.k.a. “shit tons of fun.” (Of course, I could be wrong — it’s twenty-five seconds long, for crying out loud. You can barely tell anything from such a small collection of clips.) Check it out… it looks like a whole mess o’ cool folks besides the aformentioned Taylor, Pearcy, and DeMartini have also become involved:

There’s also a website for the flick now, although as of this writing, there’s really nothing interesting on that website, save for a link to this audio clip from an interview with… well, I really don’t know who that is. Anyone recognize his voice? Anyway, it’s probably somebody really famous.

More info as we get it.
