Anthrax recently recorded a handful of covers for reasons unknown (could be for like an EP or whatever, could be for what we still call “B-sides” even though there probably hasn’t been a literal “side B” in close to twenty years, etc.). And they played one of those covers, of Sabbath’s Dio-era classic “Neon Knights,” at the recent Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards, which are not to be confused with Revolver Golden Gods Awards, or the Jim Martin Golden Gourds Awards.

And here’s video of that performance I was just talking about! In case you haven’t listened to Grannie Belladonna struggle through the high notes recently. Ronnie James Dio was eighteen years older than this dude and sounded a hundred times better. And he didn’t have a mullet. So.
