INB4 “THIS CHICK IS BETTER THAN SPENCER SOTELO” COMMENTS

Unlike the rest of the Metalverse, I’ve got no bone to pick with Periphery vocalist Spencer Sotelo. True, we were quite vocal (no pun intended) about our displeasure when Periphery and Chris “Sideshow Bob” Barretto parted ways a few  years back, but Sotelo has proved himself to be more than just an adequate replacement; dude’s got serious pipes and brings it in every sense of the word. All the IMN backlash strikes me as quite silly.

All this has nothing to do with Lauren Babic’s vocal cover of Periphery’s new track “Make Total Destroy” outside of the inevitable comparisons that will be made between her and Sotelo. You know what I think? They both fucking kick ass. Can’t we all just be friends and rock out to Periphery together?
