THAT ONE TIME MICHAEL JACKSON GOT REALLY PISSED AT SLASH
So I was doing my usual poking around YouTube recently when I came across the below video of Slash performing with Michael Jackson back in 199wheneverMichaelJacksonwasstillalive. Slash apparently performed the singer’s “Black or White” with Jackson, which makes perfect sense, since Slash played on an entirely different song from the album Dangerous (he did contribute a solo to the prologue of the video for this tune, though — Macauly Culkin pretends to be playing it instead, though, and the solo doesn’t actually appear on the record).
ANYWAY, what makes this video noteworthy is that, fairly early on, Slash begins to take a solo — which, as far as I can tell, he was scheduled to do — but then he just keeps playing that solo forever and ever and ever, y’know, the way Slash tends to do. And Michael Jackson tries to roll with it, but, uh… well, the dude had his limits, I guess.
At first, I thought maybe this whole thing was rehearsed — but then they cut the lights and sound on Slash and begin “Billie Jean,” at which point the former Guns N’ Roses guitarist finally leaves the stage. Pretty funny stuff.
