THIS PIG DESTROYER PIANO COVER IS NOT “LOATHSOME”

Sam Abbott, the guy who did that killer cover of Mastodon’s entire Leviathan album, has now recorded a piano cover of Pig Destroyer’s “Loathsome,” which you can watch below. You might think that grindcore wouldn’t translate very well to the piano, but Sam totally pulls it off. Bonus: he says that MetalSucks turned him onto Pig Destroyer in the first place, so if I do nothing else with my miserable life, at least I got someone into PxDx.

Hey I don’t know if we’ve mentioned this yet, but Pig Destroyer will headline the third annual MetalSucks/Metal Injection/1000 Knives CMJ showcase on October 18, with support coming from KEN Mode, Early Graves, and Encrust; tickets are on sale at this link.
