Byzantine Defibrillate My Heart with Lyric Video for “Signal Path”

Last week we premiered “Signal Path,” the first new music by groovy West Virginia prog metallers Byzantine in nearly five years. Since then I’ve probably listened to the song 10 times — I love it! — but not once did I pay attention to the lyrics. And now, lo and behold, the band has released a lyric video for that very song, as is de rigueur these days. Apparently the track’s about a heart attack that guitarist Tony Rohrbough suffered three years ago; I didn’t even know the guy had a heart attack, but I’m of course glad he’s fully recovered now.

Watch n’ read:

The lyric video also features more of the album artwork from Byzantine designed by MetalSucks contest winner David Friedmann. The self-titled album comes out on February 26th via Gravedancer Records.

Rohrbough released a solo guitar album last year, by the way. Check out some songs from that album here.
