MetalSucks’ Sixth Annual Heavy Metal Hanukkah — Night 3
As I said when I posted it, there were multiple correct answers to last night’s trivia question, including:
- Harry Shearer as “Derek Smalls” in This is Spinal Tap
- Christopher Guest as “Nigel Tufnel” in This is Spinal Tap
- Adam Sandler as “Pip” in Airheads
- Jack Black as “JB” in Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
- Josh Gad as “Matt” in The Rocker
I also counted Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the title role of the movie Hesher, even though I don’t think his character is ever specifically identified as musician during the film.
A couple of people cited Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley as themselves in Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park, which I counted even though it’s kinda cheating. I did NOT, however, count anyone who submitted Gene Simmons as a NON-MUSICIAN in another movie, as the question specifically asked for actors who played musicians.
So, a lot of good answers, and all these names went into a hat, and by the luck of the draw, Lauren Toivonen win. YAY LAUREN! She gets a CD and a dreidel courtesy of us nice Jewish boys here at MetalSucks.
But don’t plotz if you lost — ’cause you still have six chances to try and win! Here’s tonight’s trivia question:
True or false: there has been a Jewish musician in Metallica
E-mail your answer to axl [at] metalsucks.net with the phrase “HEAVY METAL HANNUKKAH – NIGHT 3″ in the subject line. All entries should include your name and mailing address in addition to your answer, and are due by 5 pm tomorrow (Tuesday, December 11) evening. Shortly thereafter we’ll announce the winner and post night 4’s trivia question. And while you don’t have to be Jewish to enter the contest, you do have to live in the U.S. Good luck!
