We might not be posting on the regs through the holidays, but we’re not dead (yet). Here are a few things of note to keep you busy today:

Vanisher covered Megadeth’s “Countdown to Extinction:”

Billboard is claiming that the recent addition of Metallica’s catalog to Spotify has negatively impacted their album sales (comparing this year to data from the weeks leading up to Christmas each of the last five years). Is it Spotify’s fault or just an overall downward trend in sales? If it’s Spotify’s fault, is that necessarily a bad thing? You decide.

Metallica’s Orion Music + More Festival will be back for a second year in 2013. It will be held in Detroit on June 8th and 9th.
