Contest: Send Us the Best Video of Yourself Playing Air Guitar to Axel Rudi Pell, Win One of ARP’s Stage Fans, a Limited Edition Circle of the Oath LP Box Set, and More!

Guys, every now and then we get to put together a contest which makes us SO EXCITED we can hardly contain ourselves. The Nevermore “Create Your Own Conspiracy” Contest, in which the winner got to perform live with the band was one. The Amon Amarth Beard Growing Contest, where a lucky fan got an actual piece of Johan Hegg’s beard was another.

But now, MetalSucks is proud to be teaming up with SPV/Steamhammer to celebrate the March 26 release of ARP’s new 2CD/2DVD set, Live on Fire (pre-order it here!!!), by presenting what may be our most epic contest ever:

That’s right! One of the very models of fans our favorite interview subject of all time uses to create artificial wind that will allow his gorgeous golden locks to flow like the mighty Mississippi can be all yours!!! And as if that wasn’t incentive enough to enter this contest, we’ve also got copies of that Live on Fire set, the limited edition Circle of the Oath LP box set, and a ton of cool Axel Rudi Pell swag (we’re particularly fond of the mouse pads) to give away!!!

All you have to do to win is this:

  1. Make a video of yourself playing air guitar to any song by Axel Rudi Pell, the single greatest guitar player in the history of the instrument. You must use an Axel Rudi Pell song to win. Video of yourself air guitaring to some hack like Jimi Hendrix will not be eligible for the contest.
  2. Upload your video to YouTube and post a link in the comments section below no later than two weeks from today — Monday, April 1, 2013 (the significance of the date is not lost on us, but we swear this is a real contest).

And that’s it! We’ll select our five favorite videos. One grand prize winner receive the following:

  • An authentic stage fan (not pictured, but use your imagination) just like the one Axel Rudi Pell uses
  • A limited edition Live on Fire 2CD/2DVD set with poster and laminate
  • A limited edition Circle of the Oath LP box set, which comes with two LPs on colored vinyl, a Digipak CD w/ bonus tracks, a poster, a mouse pad, a pen, a postcard, and a sticker.
  • An ARP shirt
  • ARP guitar picks

Four runners-up will receive all of the above, save for the stage fan.

And that’s all you need to know! So get started on those air guitar videos — ’cause we’re not the only ones looking forward to watching them…
