Video: Jeff Hanneman Memorial Celebration

The memorial celebration in honor of late Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman took place yesterday at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, MetalSucks wasn’t able to send a correspondent to the event… but, of course, fans filmed many of the highlights of their phones, so we now have a lot of video, which The PRP has helpfully collected. Below, watch testimonials in Hanneman’s honor from his Slayer bandmate Kerry King, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, System of a Down’s Shavo Odadjian, Metal Blade Records (Slayer’s first label) founder Brian Slagel, Dino Paredes from American Recordings (Slayer’s longtime label), and Marshall Amplification’s Nick Bowcott, plus a video memorial, as well as pretty much the most touchingly metal “send off” I’ve ever seen (hint: MOSHING!). R.I.P., Jeff… we can never replace you, dude.
