Record Your Guitar Solo Over Periphery’s “Erised,” Win Nearly $5k in Gear!

0

Think you can shred better than Misha? Now’s your chance to prove it: Toontrack and Jackson are offering a ridiculously sweet gear package to the winner of a contest in which you’re invited to record your own guitar solo over Periphery’s “Erised.” Just download a version of the track with the solo muted, do your own thang on top of it, and enter the contest here.

Astute Periphery fans will note that there are actually two guitar solos in “Erised,” the second of which belongs to Mr. John Petrucci. So yeah, don’t even try to top that one because it cannot be done! No disrespect meant towards Misha’s very fine solo.

The first round will be based on Internet voting, with the top 15 vote-getting solos advancing to the next round. After that, Chris Broderick (Megadeth), Corey Beaulieu (Trivium) and Misha himself will choose the winners.

The grand prize winner will receive a Jackson SA Select B7 Deluxe™ in satin grey, an all-metal software/content package from Toontrack (25 titles!) and a $150 voucher at guitar tab site Jam Track Central. One runner-up will get a Jackson JS32-7Q Dinky™ in natural, the same Toontrack 25-title software/content package outlined above and a $75 voucher at Jam Track Central. And one additional runner up wins the Toontrack software/content package and a $75 voucher at Jam Track Central.

While you’re at it, feel free to post your entries in the MetalSucks comments below, too. We have no official affiliation with this contest but I’m curious to hear what y’all come up with.
