Here’s a Metal Cover of Music from Final Fantasy VII

0

Knights of the Round

By the time Final Fantasy VII came out in 1997 I had mostly stopped buying video games, so some of the parts in Knight of the Round’s cover of music from that game is lost on me. But I’m old enough to have owned and played the original Final Fantasy for the NES, so the epic intro to this cover is most certainly recognizable. And the rest of the track rips too, even if you don’t know what it is.

This Knight of the Round cover has actually been out for over a year. It’s also not the first time this track has been covered by metal musicians; Misha Mansoor (Bulb) posted a version of it with then-Haunted Shores and now-Periphery guitarist Mark Holcomb way back in 2009. Of course it’ll surprise no one to learn that there’s so much overlap between metal nerdery and videogame nerdery.

Thanks: Jaime O.
