Briefly: February 24 marked the twenty-eighth anniversary of the release of Metallica’s seminal album Master of Puppets, and the band is commemorating the occasion by giving away a free download of their performance on September 21, 1986 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London. The show is extra special because it features Metal Church’s John Marshall on rhythm guitar (Hetfield had recently broken his wrist in a skateboarding accident) and, more importantly, was one of the band’s final performances with Cliff Burton, who died six days later. Get it here.

Additionally, following last week’s rumors, the band has now been confirmed to headline this year’s Heavy Montreal (né MTL) festival. The two-day event will take place on August 9 and 10 at Parc Jean-Drapeau. (If you can’t figure out what city that’s in, pat yourself on the back for being  a total fucking idiot.) Other bands on the bill include every Big Four band that isn’t Megadeth. Neither John Marshall nor Cliff Burton will be in attendance.
