This Morning’s Slipknews: Slipknot Release New Song “Skeptic,” Jim Root Says Mean Things About Stone Sour, The Lounge Kittens Cover “Duality”

Slipknews the first: Slipknot have released yet another new song from their new album, Everyone and His Mother Knows This is Coming Out on Tuesday. It’s called “Skeptic,” it’s either about Paul Gray or Paul Gray or possibly Paul Gray, and you can stream it below. Yay.

Slipknews the second (and far more interesting!): guitarist Jim Root, who was fired from Stone Sour via phone earlier this year, continues to ensure that things are super-duper awkward between him and vocalist Corey Taylor, who was not fired from Stone Sour at all ever. Root recently told Gee-tar World (via Metal Injection):

“Some of the guys in Stone Sour, I think they just want to be a radio band and write strictly for radio and try to be more of a poppy rock band. And that’s not really what I’m into. There’s at least one guy in the band that’s only concemed about money. I really have no desire to associate with people like that anymore.”

Being “only concerned about money” is basically the most insulting thing you can say about an artist, so, yeah, ouch. Presumably, Root isn’t referring to Taylor, but still, you gotta wonder if Taylor hit him after reading this and is like “Not cool dude!” or just keeps his mouth shut or what. In any case, Root gets the last laugh because he gets to sleep with Cristina Scabbia and no one else does. Okay now I’m just depressed. Happy, Jim?Jim Root and Cristina Scabbia

Slipknews the third (and final… for now): The Lounge Kittens, who you may recall from their excellent cover of Limp Bizkit’s “Rollin’” back in February, have returned with another excellent cover, this time of The ‘Knot’s “Duality.” As a bonus, the cover comes with a cutesy, Benny Hill-esque video, which you can view below. Thanks Feind for sending this in!
