If you’re a fan of Tosin Abasi, chances are you’re already familiar with R&B singer-songwriter Kelela: hers is the female voice heard all throughout T.R.A.M.’s 2012 eargasm fusion album Lingua Franca, and there’s a version of “Behaving Badly” from Animals as Leaders’ self-titled debut featuring Kelela’s vocals that’s amassed 200k+ YouTube veiws over the past three years.

Now Tosin’s on the other side of the equation, serving as Kelela’s backing band instead of vice versa. Dazed Magazine has the premiere of a new Kelela track called “Enemy,” and you’ll instantly recognize that guitar stone and style as Abasi’s from the moment you press play. I love hearing this side of talented metal musicians — something completely different than their usual fare, but not at all out of character — and I really enjoy this track. It’s not heavy in the slightest but it’s a great listen, and I’d be delighted to hear a full album’s worth of songs from this tag team.

Check it out below and let us know what you think.
