Dark Sermon’s New Track: You Listen Now!

Dark SermonLast month we premiered a new track by a completely re-tooled Dark Sermon. In the time between their 2013 debut In Tongues and The Oracle — out August 21st — it sounds as if the band swapped out all five members, although it turns out only their bassist and drummer are new. Dark Sermon’s new music sounds that different from their older stuff.

I tell you this in case you were like, “Eh, Dark Sermon are really not for me,” two years ago when you first heard them. Give this band another shot! Case in point, “In Each Hand, a Talisman of Sacred Stone,” the second song we’re hearing from The Oracle. It’s got the same dirty, doomy, frosty style as “Rat King,” — Dark Sermon’s heavier, sludgier, more atmospheric new direction — and it gives me hope that The Oracle is going to be an incredibly solid sophomore album through and through.
