Killswitch Engage Song Makes Appearance on New NBC Primetime Show “Blindspot”

BlindspotPerhaps you’ve seen the ads for the new NBC primetime show Blindspot, above. They’ve been impossible to avoid in NYC’s subways over the past month or so, and since metal and tattoo culture are so closely intertwined I naturally got to wondering whether there was any connection to metal on the show, or at least if its creators happen to be metalheads. Or perhaps tattoos are just that mainstream now and the show’s creators are trying to cash in on the trend; the show’s official website has a “Tattoo Yourself” tool that allows anyone to “find out how you’d look covered in tattoos,” fer chrissakes. Groan.

But the former theory got some legs when Killswitch Engage received airtime in the series premiere. Skip to roughly the 19:00 mark in the clip below and you’ll hear “Life to Lifeless” blaring as the FBI invades a Chinatown apartment. Whether there’s any larger connection between the show and metal or not, it’s still a pretty great opportunity for Killswitch; not only did they [hopefully] reach a few new ears, but these TV syncs usually pay pretty handsomely.
