Power Metal Party: Listen to the New Sabaton Song “The Lost Battalion” Right Now!

Just how popular are the Swedish power metal band Sabaton? Their lyric video for the new song “The Lost Battalion” premiered just a few hours ago on YouTube, and already it’s accumulated over 33,000 views (probably more by the time you read this). Holy crikey! I had no idea this band had such a huge following.

But unless you’re one of those people who refuses to listen to power metal on principal, it’s easy to see why: the band’s been cranking out power anthems for over a decade now, and their latest is no exception. “The Lost Battalion” is big on fist-pumping riffs, grandiose, bellowed vocals, orchestral keys, a shout-along chorus and lyrics about a legendary battalion in World War I. In other words, it’s the perfect power metal song.
