Fill Your Eyes with Family’s “Day Vision”
We were excited to hear that Brooklyn’s Family got signed to Prosthetic, and that their new full-length album, Future History, is due out later this year. Well, now we’ve gotten a taste of it in the form of a new track called “Day Vision,” and man does it rule. Listen below.
“Day Vision” offers a solid example of Family’s sound, which is not easily classifiable. There’s the sludgy hard rock juds of Crowbar, the strange melodic leads of the Melvins, there’s the guttural metal bellows of Lamb of God, all with a little bit of grind and death metal around the edges. It’s a track you can enjoy whether you’re a hardcore music theory student or a sweaty aggro headbanger, and it’s an auspicious sign regarding the album as a whole.
