OC Weekly Praises Dead Cross for Performance They Never Gave

How good are Dead Cross, the project featuring former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo and members of The Locust? So good that OC Weekly has named them one of the six best bands at last weekend’s Ozzfest Meets Knotfest… even though, as reported by Metal Insider, the group cancelled their appearance at that event in July.

More embarrassing, still, is that the article’s author, Alexander Vincent, describes this imaginary set:

So was this dude at the festival at all? Probably not — Metal Insider also notes that Vincent claims Slipknot “had enough time for the new stuff” despite the fact that they played Iowa in its entirety, without any other songs in the set. He also says Slipknot played for two hours; Iowa‘s running time is only sixty-five minutes, so unless they added like twenty guitar solos to “The Heretic Anthem,” Vincent’s reported set time is probably incorrect.

As of this writing, the OC Weekly article is still live if you wanna see it. And the next time you claim MetalSucks is over biased, remember: at least we didn’t write a review for a show we never attended.
