Set And Setting are Back with Music from the Future!

0

It’s that time of year, folks: it’s getting colder, the sun’s setting at 4:30 PM — shit, November will be all but wrapped up in just a couple more weeks! Soon we’ll be cozying up for the holidays and arguing about our year-end lists. More importantly, though, it’s the time of year where we begin to get teasers for what the future of the genre holds. Allow me to formally introduce you to the music of 2017.

Set And Setting, an instrumental post-metal group that merges atmospheric ambiance with fun rock-driven riffage, bring the gazey boogie with their new track “Saudade.” It’s an interesting marathon of a tune that clearly feels at home in repetition, but just when it starts to get a bit boring the song cuts the monotony with reverb-soaked leads that do just enough to make it interesting again. It’s not the strongest track Set And Setting have debuted, but that doesn’t stop it from being a good time. If you’re a fan of Pelican, Russian Circles, Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, or Tides of Man (think along the lines of their instrumental record, obviously), then you’ll probably find a lot to enjoy here.

Their new album Reflectionless is out January 27th. It’s available now for pre-order right here. As always, you’ll find the single embedded below:
