Deicide Part Ways with Guitarist Jack Owen, Announce Replacement (Sort Of)

  • Axl Rosenberg

Deicide have parted ways with guitarist Jack Owen after twelve years. Owen, I probably do not have to tell you, joined the band in 2004, after the Hoffman brothers left/were fired (depending on who you ask). Prior to joining Deicide, Owen had been a member of Cannibal Corpse for sixteen years. No reason has been given for Owen’s departure from Deicide.

Meanwhile, Metal Injection reports that although no official statement has been released, Deicide now lists Mark English in Owen’s spot.

English has been a member of Monstrosity since 2006, demonstrating just how small and incestuous the death metal world can be: Monstrosity, of course, was originally fronted by George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher, who went on to be in Cannibal Corpse with Jack Owen.

More details when/if we get ’em.
