Exclusive Track Premiere: Darkest Hour’s “Knife in the Safe Room”

Before you listen to the new Darkest Hour song, “Knife in the Safe Room,” you should probably go grab a seat cushion or pillow or something and shove it down the back of your pants. ‘Cause this track is gonna knock you flat on your ass.

The debut single from Darkest Hour’s forthcoming Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora, “Knife” is fast, frantic and filthy. It’s the kind of song that is destined to incite homicidal mosh pits. And — pardon the pun — it’s just the tip of the blade! The crowdfunded Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora is probably Darkest Hour’s strongest offering since Undoing Ruin (and we say that as Darkest Hour superfanboys who celebrate the band’s entire catalogue). Working for the first time with über-producer and Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou (High on Fire, Skeletonwitch, Every Time I Die), Darkest Hour have crafted twelve of the most disembowelingly-furious songs of their storied career. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

So do yourself a solid and check out “Knife in the Safe Room” below. Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora comes out March 10 on Southern Lord. If you pre-order it, you’ll receive “Knife in the Safe Room” as an immediate download! You can get physical copies here and digital editions here or here.

Meanwhile, the band kicks off a MetalSucks-sponsored tour in February! Support will come from Ringworm, Rotten Sound, Tombs, and Rivers of Nihil. Get dates here!!!
