Watch Video of Jared Dines Playing His Mammoth New 18-String Guitar

  • Axl Rosenberg

Jared Dines 18-string guitar is already the stuff of legends. For those who don’t recall, the one-of-a-kind, custom-made instrument, by Ormsby Guitars, is basically a replacement for a 17-string guitar that Dines commissioned last year… only to learn he’d been conned by its alleged luthier (who wasn’t a luthier at all… dun-dun-DUUUUUN!!!). That guitar was eventually sent to go live on a farm where it could frolic in the sunshine all day. This new model, meanwhile, was unveiled earlier this year at NAMM, but we still had yet to see Dines play the damn thing…

…until now. Dines has released “Djent 2018,” in which he gloriously demonstrates the capabilities of the MOAG (Mother of All Guitars). It is exactly as serious as it needs to be.
