Update: Wolvhammer’s Facebook Is Back Up, Band Announces Headlining Shows and New Guitarist

Last month, we announced that Wolvhammer would head out on tour with Abigail Williams and Ghost Bath. Then, a few weeks later, it looked like the band was having serious issues–their Instagram and Facebook accounts went dark, and Abigail Williams released a statement saying that Wolvhammer would not be part of their tour.

Now, Wolvhammer has issued their own statement via their Facebook page, which explains what’s in store for the band in the future…though it doesn’t explain what happened in July.

From the post:

Due to personal issues and scheduling conflicts, we unfortunately had to drop off the Abigail Williams & Ghost Bath tour.

We still are heavily anticipating our set at Psycho Las Vegas. We have booked 3 headlining shows in route to the festival.

For this short run of shows we would like to welcome Jarrett Pritchard(Pulchra MorteEulogy) on guitar. It is with great pride and pleasure to have him share the stage with us, as along with his pedigree, he also engineered and mixed ‘The Monuments of Ash & Bone’.

With this we begin a new chapter.
Burn everything.

Interesting! One assumes this means that the personal issues and conflicts in question had to do with Wolvhammer guitarist Justin Porada…but honestly, we don’t know. The language here is still pretty vague, and the end of the announcement broadcasts significant changes for the band, whatever those might be. So this  is basically the social media equivalent of, “We don’t want to talk about it. See you on the road.”

ANYway, we wish Wolvhammer the best of luck, and hope they soldiers on with as little drama as possible. Find their headlining dates below, as well as the full Facebook post.

8/13 @ LiveWire – Chicago, IL
8/14 @ Riot Room – Kansas City, MO
8/15 @ Triple Nickel Tavern – Colorado Springs, CO
8/17 @ Psycho Las Vegas

Thanks to Xander for the heads up.
