This Fractal Universe Jam is 🔥🔥🔥

It’s been a long while since I’ve heard a new band coming from the more technical side of the metal spectrum really wowed me, but lord, we’ve got a hot one on our hands here with Fractal Universe.

On the band’s Metal Blade Records debut single “Oneiric Realisations,” Fractal Universe blend tech-death technique and production with a sense of songwriting and ear for melody borrowed from several decades’ worth of hard rock. The track blends genre trademark weedily-weedily guitar lines and pinpoint precision drums with a repeated, catchy chorus and soulful clean-sung vocals that call to mind Katatonia’s Jonas Renkse or Maynard James Keenan (no qualification needed) in a song that clocks in at less than four minutes and will burrow its way inside your earholes in a hurry. How is it that this blend of styles hasn’t been attempted before?? The metal world needs a band like Fractal Universe to press the reset button on the paradigms of both technical death metal and hard rock.

Check out “Oneiric Realisations” below. Rhizomes of Insanity comes out April 19th via Metal Blade; pre-order here.
