Babymetal Announce U.S. Arena Show, New Single Coming in May

In a momentous step up for the band, Japanese kawaii metal group Babymetal has announced their first ever arena show in the U.S., slated to take place on Friday, October 11th at The Forum in Los Angeles. Babymetal have been performing at arenas in their native Japan for years, but this will mark the first they’ve headlined for such a large audience stateside (they’ve performed at large festivals here in a support capacity).

Those who follow metal closely will note that Ghost dipped their toes in the arena waters this past fall with a show at the same venue (in addition to Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, with a couple dozen theater dates in between the two big shows).

Babymetal announced earlier this month that they’ll be releasing a new album later this year. Now they’ve revealed that “Elevator Girl,” the album’s first single, will come out on May 10th. The band has been performing the song live; check out some fan-filmed footage below.
