Babymetal’s Latest Single “METALI!!” Taps Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello
That divisive metal band from Japan is back with another track and this time, Babymetal’s latest track “METALI!!” features the addition of Momometal to the lineup. Oh and Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello‘s in it as well. And with so many exclamation points in the track’s name, it’s gotta be exciting/kawaii/both, right?!
Listen, whether or not you’re going to like this track is really dependent on how super fucking serious you are about your metal. If you’re able to have a good time and accept artists for who they are, then you might enjoy this. If you’re so uptight about metal being “pure” or “kvlt” or “authentic,” then you probably need to loosen up a bit and relax before checking this out. Seriously, it’s not worth getting angry about, guys…
Speaking about his collaboration with the band, Morello said he was excited to share this track, not just because he’s on it, but because he actually likes Babymetal.
“I am a big fan of Babymetal, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. I’ve been trying to work with them for some time and when they sent me the demo of ‘METALI!!’ I knew I could rock that shit like crazy!”
So yeah. Feel free to check the track out below, but keep your expectations in check. This is Babymetal, so maybe don’t expect Cannibal Corpse-level brutality because you’re just gonna give yourself an ulcer. Have fun!
