Watch: Killswitch Engage and Howard Jones Reunite for “End of Heartache” Performance

Does it not warm the cockles of your heart to know that Killswitch Engage and Howard Jones are still on good terms despite parting ways in 2012? I mean, sure, plenty of former bandmates say everything is amicable, but a lot of them are also totally full of shit.

This is clearly not the case with KSE and Jones, though — or, if it is, they’re doing an AMAZING job hiding it. Not only does HoJo appear on the new Killswitch album, Atonement, but he recently re-joined his former bandmates for a live rendition of the hit title track from 2004’s The End of Heartache.

The performance took place earlier this week at the Festival d’été de Québec, where both Killswitch Engage and Jones’ current band, Light the Torch, were on the bill. You can watch fan-filmed video below:

This isn’t even the first time this has happened — Jones joined the band on-stage for the very same song in London last year.

Of course, KSE have a history of staying friendly with former members: when vocalist Jesse Leach left the band in 2002, he still cameo’d on Heartache, and performed with Jones at the 2005 Roadrunner United concert as well.

In case you don’t see where I’m going with all this, this is where I’m going with all this:

Do we think KSE will ever book a tour with both Leach and Jones?

Sounds nutty, I know, but remember, Anthrax came this close to pulling it off with Joey Belladonna and John Bush in 1999, and even David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar were able to kinda-sorta put aside their differences long enough to do one tour in 2002 (albeit without the rest of Van Halen). So it’s a less fantastical notion than, say, hoping for Adam D.’s cape to suddenly give him the ability to fly.

Fantasize in the comments section below. Atonement is out August 16 on Metal Blade.
