Infinity Shred Release Dreamy New Single, “Earth”

When Infinity Shred debuted “Long May You Run” off their upcoming album, MS editor-in-chief Vince Neilstein sang its praises, saying: “It’s a winner that should both please those of us who have been following the group for some time and bring in new fans from the Chon/Polyphia side of things who are looking for something a bit darker.”

Welp, I’m in the latter group, and Vince would be correct. The album’s second single, “Earth,” is a dreamier and even more heavily cinematic track compared to “Long May You Run,” interweaving elements of EDM, synthwave and progressive metal that all combine to make me feel a swamp of emotions. Melancholic, hopeful, regretful, invincible, fragile, all encapsulated in a dream within a dream. While I am a fan of both Chon and Polyphia, I know I’ll find myself gravitating to Infinity Shred a whole lot more given their less hippy-dippy sound that’s reliant on heavy anthemic waves of dreamy soundscapes and shreddy guitar.

“Earth” comes off Infinity Shred’s upcoming album, Forever, A Fast Life which comes out on August 23rd via the Periphery-owned 3DOT Recordings and can be pre-ordered here.
