Infinity Shred Announce New EP, Release First Single, “Was”

Infinity Shred’s 2019 album, Forever, A Fast Life, was a grower, not a shower, successive lessons revealing the lush orchestrations and nuance within over time. It took me a while, but the album ended up being a favorite.

The band are back with a new six-song EP, titled EP002 (Recovery), set for release on 3DOT Recordings (the label owned by Periphery) next month. They’ve also unveiled “Was,” the EP’s first single, and Infinity Shred fans should be quite pleased with what they hear, the band’s trademark mix of heavy guitars, lush atmospherics and retro synths.

The band collectively commented on the EP:

“Written during a time of rapid and tumultuous personal change for all members of the band, EP 002 (Recovery) is an introspective journey through learning to stop hating yourself. Rejecting the hollow positivity of gym wall mantras espoused by lifestyle influencers and soul cycle instructors alike, Recovery focuses not on needing to be stronger than you were the day before but on the power of acceptance. Through cycles of rest and intensity the band indulge in their own extremes: euphoric electronics, cathartic metal and meditative ambience.”

Check out “Was” below. EP002 (Recovery) comes out on Feburary 19; pre-order it here.
