Korn’s James “Munky” Shaffer Leaves Tour for the Birth of His Daughter
Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer will be heading home for a few of the band’s upcoming tour dates ‘cuz he’s having a baby! Well, not him, but you know. This is the third crotch goblin the family has produced, soon to be another proud member of the Munky heritage. I hope she pops out with her dad’s head superimposed on a baby’s body — aaawwww!
Munky will be sitting out starting today (August 6th) until August 11th, and will be covered by JR Bareis of Spoken, who also plays with Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch in the band Love And Death.
Here’s Dad’s Instagram post explaining the situation:
“Since our family is waiting any day now for the birth of our daughter, I won’t be performing starting on Tuesday August 6th through Sunday August 11th .I’ll be back in Detroit. I’m going to miss you all very much on those dates. But, you’re in great hands with our close friend and brother @jrbareis95 who is filling in for me…and of course the rest of @korn_official who will carry the load.
